"Go Kids!" is an initiative of The OSCAR Foundation and has been developed in response to the concern about the increasing number of inactive and overweight children in New Zealand. 

The "Go Kids!" programme has been able to grow and develop through a community partnership between the The OSCAR Foundation and The Keri Juice Company. The Keri Juice Company acknowledges that a healthy lifestyle is a vital part of a child's wellbeing.

The OSCAR Foundation has been involved in the OSCAR sector for the past ten years. We have a mission of 'Enriching Childhood' and to fulfill this vision we work to provide world class advice and support to OSCAR (Out of School Care And Recreation) Programmes, Government and other stakeholders in the sector.

The physical activity and nutrition initiative has been developed specifically for OSCAR programmes by The OSCAR Foundation with financial support from The Keri Juice Company. The resource is a living document is added to each year to ensure the ongoing issue of childhood fitness and nutritional choices is tackled in a fun and enjoyable way.

The "Go Kids!" partnership exists in a separate environment to The Keri Juice Company's marketing operation and accordingly there is no direct marketing to children involved with the resource.

The OSCAR Foundation has spent a great deal of time working through the ethical considerations in this partnership. Ultimately "Go Kids!" is able to provide a quality resource to OSCAR groups throughout the country. There is no overt or covert advertising involved and countless children have benefited from the fitness programmes. The financial assistance from The Keri Juice Company has meant that a positive physical activity programme has reached children in even the poorest areas.
